Sustainable Development

Saudi Arabia is witnessing economic prosperity and progress in all domains of socio-economic development which produced tangible improvement in all human development indicators such as standard of living, health and education services, environmental conditions as well as potentials of comprehensive development. The country has ranked 39th on the 2018 Global Human Development Index, which puts it on the high development countries. The country is working on diversifying its economy which is an area that UNDP works on.

Areas of Cooperation

UNDP Saudi Arabia works on Sustainable Economic and Social Development through diversifying economic sources, developing human capabilities, creating job opportunities and promoting private sector involvement in the Sustainable Development Goals achievement. This focus area is addressing SDG 1, 8, 9, 11 and 16.
