YLP6 for the first time in Saudi Arabia

What is YLP

YLP is a Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) launched in 2015 aiming to build the region's most dynamic network working at the intersection of youth, innovation and sustainable development. YLP has run five successful cycles. and, has worked with over 7,000 youth participants and supported 5,000+ projects. YLP participants have launched and established successful small businesses, won municipality elections, received recognition and awards for their innovative solutions, and presented their ideas at global platforms like the ECOSOC Youth Forum within the UN Headquarters in New York.

And as the Arab region is home to the youngest population in the world, with over 100 million youth between the ages of 15 and 29 - these young men and women have the potential to drive significant change and promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). YLP6, is set to launch with the theme "Pandemic, Climate change, and goal 16: emphasizing on civic engagement and political participation and decision making.,"

YLP in Saudi Arabia

This year for the first time, UNDP Saudi Arabia's office, along with one of the well-established youth-serving organizations (YSOs). In the kingdom Salam for Cultural Communication, nominated the most outstanding youth with an ongoing initiative concerning the SDGs. UNDP Saudi Arabia office aims to increase the chosen youth capacity and to guide them with their initiatives to reach desirable outcomes, through providing the youth with workshops and seminars tailored for their needs.
